The Board of Painting Examiners was established May 12, 1937 [Laws 1937 c428 s1] to examine all applicants for contractor's or journeyman painter's licenses and issue the licenses, to hold hearings into violations of the registration act or code of minimum standards, to reissue revoked or suspended licenses at the end of the revocation/suspension period, and to recommend changes to the registration act and code. The Minnesota Minimum Wage Commission was established to determine and make effective a living wage for women and minors (Laws 1913 c547).
